Our client provides industry leading software and automation tools for the pharmaceutical, biotech and clinical diagnostics sectors. Due to continuation in growth, they are seeking a pre-sales applications scientist for the UK to work closely with their Head of Sales on Key Accounts.

Overview:
The primarily focus will be on gathering of workflow specifications and the design of workcells using the best automation software in the world. There is an important need to understand the logistical requirements that are associated with these specific processes. A prior history of being an end-user of automation systems is essential. A familiarity with scripting languages (C#, JavaScript, Python or Visual Basic), and past roles in the laboratory environment utilizing liquid handlers would be advantageous.

Working with their customers you will answer relevant workflow questions and have a good technical acumen to determine project needs, project risks, and outline what automation solutions need to be delivered.

Qualifications/Experience required:
• Past experience with laboratory automation manufacturers (Agilent, ThermoFisher Scientific, Tecan & HighRes etc) and their instrumentation.
• Strong working experience with data, databases, LIMS/LMS architecture and data centric applications
• Understanding of the architectural principles for cloud-based platforms that include SaaS, multi-tenancy, and automation.
• Knowledge to utilize programming/scripting languages (C#, JavaScript, Python or Visual Basic).
• Ability to travel (including internationally)
