Do you have a Master’s or a Batchelor’s degree in Analytical, Synthetic, Organic, Medicinal Chemistry or a Chemistry degree?  Do you have experience working with High Throughput systems? Have you used techniques such as HPLC and SFC? If so, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.
 
I am currently working with a brilliant CRO who are one of the biggest global biopharma companies. I am headhunting for their recently built modern facility in Murcia, Spain which has grown significantly to circa of 230 staff. The site is part of their drug discovery portfolio in Europe and provides expertise in Synthetic Chemistry to clients they collaborate with. 
 
The successful candidate will be a scientific specialist in Chromatography and provide expertise in high throughput purification services to their chemists. I am seeking an experienced and highly motivated BS- or MS-level chemist with analytical and Liquid Chromatography purification skills to work on site in their labs. Relevant experience and expert knowledge of modern analytical and purification techniques, such as mass-directed reverse phase preparative HPLC, analytical HPLC and SFC is required.

Key Responsibilities Senior Scientist Chromatography Specialist role:
 
  • Design and implement a high efficient high throughput purification (HTP) platform and workflow
  • Conduct high throughput purification work from crude samples analysis, method selection, purification, quality control to registration and distribution of the purified samples
  • Help identify, evaluate and implement cutting edge purification capabilities to support both chemical library samples and singleton samples
  • Present data and report on behalf of the purification team and group meetings
 
 
 
Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
 
  • A minimum of Batchelor’s degree or Master’s degree in analytical, synthetic, organic, medicinal chemistry or a chemistry degree
  • Experience using analytical and purification techniques such as HPLC and SFC
  • Experience with lab automation and compound distribution logistics is preferred
  • Independent thinking and the ability to effectively collaborate
  • Strong problem solving skills for developing creative, innovative solutions and to meet project objectives
