A hard-working and reliable Cleaner is required to work in a Pharmaceutical factory each evening from 4pm (or 5pm) to 9pm, Monday to Friday. Do you have excellent attention to detail and some experience from a highly regulated environment (kitchen, lab, manufacturing etc)? If so, this will be an excellent way to get reliable, consistent work on a year’s contract initially (on the company’s payroll). You will be paid a competitive rate of around £9 / hour, for up to 25 hours a week. Because it is a controlled sterile environment you will have to wear a face mask, hood, goggles and gloves.

The Company
A pioneering UK-based Pharmaceutical company who develop and manufacture liquid vaccines under strictly controlled sterile conditions. This vacancy has arisen at their main site in Worthing, West Sussex. There are around 270 employees and the company has an excellent reputation for its welcoming atmosphere, staff morale and ongoing development. They manufacture a range of drug products and have very strictly regulated GMP clean room and aseptic production areas.

The Role
You will work in a small team that supports the GMP-regulated production of liquid vaccines. Manufacturing usually takes place until around 4pm each day, so you will start working when the production is coming to an end. Your role will then be to conduct a deep clean of the different grades of clean room, using state-of-the-art equipment and following specific procedures. Some of your work will involve working in a sterile area, which will require you to be dressed head-to-toe with a full body suit, two pairs of gloves, breathing apparatus and boots. You will ensure that there is no contamination of any equipment, including complex machinery as well as working surfaces. This will require meticulous attention to detail, taking real care over your work and ensuring that you follow all processes correctly.

As you gain experience, you will also take on some additional responsibilities, including stock control and maintaining the correct levels of cleaning equipment and solutions. This is a responsible role for someone who is reliable and consistent and who takes real pride in their work.

Experience
The successful candidate must have experience as a Cleaner in a regulated environment, whether a factory (e.g. Rayner, Sodexo, GSK), laboratory or hospital. Knowledge of sterilisation processes would be a strong advantage but is not essential. You must be comfortable wearing full head-to-toe coveralls, working in a process-driven way and following GMP (or similar) regulations. You must be happy to work 4pm – 9pm Monday to Friday (or 5pm start if preferred), ideally to start as soon as possible on a contract for a year.
