Summary
A brand new permanent role has arisen with a unique Pharmaceutical company in Worthing, to work in their sterile Filling department that is responsible for filling liquid vaccines into vials and syringes. We are looking for a committed, hard-working individual with some experience from a very regulated clean room environment, who is keen to learn all about sterile production of liquid vaccines. If you have worked in a GMP or ISO-regulated setting and are used to following SOPs, we would love to hear from you. The salary will start on £18,000 and will rise to £18,500 following completion of your initial training period, which could be around 4-6 months but depends on how quickly you pick things up.

The Company
A pioneering Pharmaceutical organisation working with biological substances to assist drug development and produce innovative new treatments for people worldwide. The company is well known in the local area for its positive and supportive working environment. You will be joining a small team that forms part of the Primary Production department, preparing substances that will be used in the development and manufacturing of vaccines. The company is easily accessible by car or train.

The Roles
You will join a busy, supportive team that specialises in completing the production of liquid vaccines, measuring amounts very accurately and filling the liquids into vials and syringes. This is an extremely technical and complex environment which uses advanced machinery, combined with some manual duties. The department is within a high-grade, state-of-the-art sterile GMP clean room that requires you to work meticulously and carefully at all times. You will wear full head-to-toe protective clothing, including 2 pairs of gloves.

Compared to many other Pharmaceutical production roles, this position will be varied and will challenge you intellectually as well as physically. You will be involved in filtration and filling operations that use advanced machines that need to be maintained, cleaned and validated regularly in order to maximise production efficiency and avoid cross-contamination of different samples. You will contribute to GMP documentation and perform various routine duties as well as being involved in individual projects to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce errors.

You will work hard to make sure that all activities follow strict industry standards, including Health & Safety and GMP. You will work closely with other departments to monitor progress of production and analytical testing and you will need to meticulously record all results. This will be an excellent way to build up your understanding of the Pharmaceutical industry, gaining valuable skills and ongoing training.

Benefits
In addition to a generous salary (£18k, rising to £18.5k), you will receive excellent benefits including private healthcare, pension, life insurance, 25 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays) and a discretionary annual bonus.

Experience
The ideal candidates will have a background in a GMP clean room, preferably with an understanding of production and / or liquid filling. You do not necessarily need experience in a Pharmaceutical company, but it would be an advantage if you have worked somewhere that requires excellent attention to detail and precision. Candidates will be considered from industries like Cosmetics, Food, Medical Devices, Precision Engineering, Lab Testing (including microbiology testing), Diagnostics etc. It may also be helpful if you have worked with complex machines before and have a general interest in mechanical engineering. This may even be from your hobbies, such as tinkering with car engines or bikes. Above all else, we want someone with excellent communication skills, good numeracy skills, an honest and likeable manner, and the ability to work in a role that requires constant attention to detail.
