We are recruiting for two brand-new contract positions with a major Pharmaceutical company in Redhill, Surrey (though you can work from home for the time being, due to Covid-19). As well as being fluent in English, you must be a native speaker in German.

  • Major Pharmaceutical company in Redhill, Surrey

  • Work from home for the time being, until the Redhill site is reopened

  • Fluency in German ESSENTIAL, including medical terminology

  • Supporting Covid-19 vaccine administration in Germany, Austria and Switzerland

  • Strong scientific or medical background ESSENTIAL

  • Customer service and/or office-based / administration experience ESSENTIAL

  • Contract role for at least 12 months (with a good chance of long-term extension)

  • Salary equivalent of up to £35,000 (paid as an hourly rate)

  • Full product training will be provided

A new opportunity has arisen within the Medical Information team of a leading global Pharmaceutical organisation, for a Medical Information Associate. You will communicate with healthcare professionals in Mainland Europe, responding to a variety of enquiries about the company’s drug products (including a Covid19 vaccine). This is a rare opportunity which will be an excellent step forward in your career. The ideal candidate will be a German national living in the UK. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in a large pharmaceutical company environment in a discipline that is in demand throughout the pharmaceutical industry. 

The Role

Based in a busy office which supports the European marketplace, you will join the Medical Information team, where calls and e-mails come through from healthcare professionals and members of the public regarding drug products. Using various internal resources and your own knowledge (following training), you will respond to the medical queries and will get the chance to specialise in certain therapeutic areas to provide the best possible customer service. The service is backed by medical experts and may involve determining and reporting adverse reactions.

This role will be supporting calls from customers in who are in Germany, Austria or Switzerland. You will also write a range of documentation to support the provision of information to your country. Typically calls are from the medical profession regarding aspects such as dosages, drug interactions, unexpected adverse reactions, drug storage etc following the contact provided on the leaflet that accompanies the drug. Typically, you will handle around 5 to 6 enquiries per day and will be responsible for documenting responses.  

This will be a fun, enjoyable and challenging role, requiring the highest possible standards of customer service and professionalism. Gaining experience in Medical Information will also set you on a varied and profitable career path. This role is offered on a long-term contract basis with an initial 12-month contract with a strong chance of extension.

Experience

You must have a strong Life Science, Nursing, Drug Safety or Pharmacy (or similar medically oriented) background (degree preferred) with a good grasp of medical terminology. You will also need to have experience gained in a communication-focused, client services or office-based role. You must have an excellent telephone manner and written communication skills and the ability to handle a variety of enquiries. You MUST be able to speak and write German fluently and have a strong command of written and spoken English.
