Purpose of the Role:
You will drive forward new business opportunities to achieve the aims of establishing a world leading UK ecosystem to support manufacture and delivery to patients of life transforming therapies. The role sits within the senior leadership team and reporting to the Chief Business Officer. Key Responsibilities:
You will lead the business development interactions with UK and international collaborators as well as business development strategy for manufacturing and supply – chain related projects.
 
  • Take lead business development responsibility for the company and work as part of a wider team to drive the strategy for all manufacturing and supply chain innovation
  • Source, develop and manage the collaborator relationships within the company and lead, develop and manage the key relationships as part of the overall business development matrix
  • Report in to and support the senior leadership team and provide ongoing market feedback to constantly inform evolution of the business development / operational strategy
  • Any other such duties as are reasonable for the successful delivery of the company’s mission
 
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience within a similar business development role within the cell and gene therapy or biologics industry, preferably within manufacturing
  • A top-level awareness of the overall requirements of GMP manufacturing

  • Highly motivated, pragmatic and practical to support the mission of the company to accelerate the development of a commercial cell and gene therapy-based therapy industry in the UK
  • High commercial awareness and acumen
  • Proven ability to engage constructively with colleagues at all levels across different departments to deliver objectives and to respond to a wide range of customer and management needs
  • Excellent track record of successful personnel leadership
  • Strong influencing and leadership skills
  • Experience of motivating and developing teams
  • Willingness to travel, with approximately 50% of time spent working from different facilities and offices, and travelling to other locations as required
 
Education / Qualifications:
  • Honours degree in a relevant biological or commercial discipline
