To lead the IT and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) teams in the provision of hardware and software services in support of the diagnostic laboratory. Including management of software development, systems architecture and physical provision. To support our client through the introduction and maintenance of best practice in the high quality provision business systems and strategic planning of IT requirements to support the laboratory staff.

• Line management of the IT team and LIMS team, managing and prioritising workloads.
• Management of the LIMS and interaction with software vendors to ensure deployments and innovations are made.
• Oversee delivery of computerised workflows and interfaces between their commercial LIMS and their internal software platforms. This will include deploying automation interfaces, data validation rules, systems monitoring and alerting, and complex calculations.
• Liaise on changes arising from user feedback, and updates to LIMS, including deployment of new lab technologies.
• Develop a positive metrics to generate efficient data solutions.
• Maintenance of the LIMS database.
• Provide expert strategic knowledge, experience and an innovative approach to support and develop strategy. 
• Assessing monitoring and upgrading business systems and processes.
• Optimising business IT processes.
• Managing IT security, risk management and governance.
• Manage tender processes in relation to IT hardware, networks and security, telephony and service together with software solutions.  Oversee the implementation of these and ensure future needs are anticipated.
• Oversee all IT related purchasing budget.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Strong LIMS Informatics experience – R&D QC or Clinical Pathology considered.
• To have led a team of 5 as a minimum.
• Experience and knowledge of IT processes.
