Are you an experienced Human Factors Engineer?  Are you looking for a new challenge for 2018?  If so, I have a contract role for initial 12 months, with competitive pay rates available.  Based in Cambridge we have an urgent and exciting opportunity for an experienced Human Factors Engineer to join a global pharmaceutical solutions provider, working in state of the art facilities.

The Role
You will be responsible for all human factors aspects of new and existing drug delivery devices, from the supply, assembly and testing of materials and components from third party suppliers to device usability input and ensuring compliance and demonstration of human factors research as part of regulatory submission documentation. The successful candidate will also be integral to risk management and generation of all company device Instruction For Use (IFU) documentation. As you will be a SME for all Human Factors considerations the successful candidate will need to be an excellent communicator and equally confident speaking with internal teams, external design house partners and worldwide healthcare regulatory bodies.

This is a varied and engaging role, initially for a 12 month contract but with a strong possibility of extension well beyond this.

The Company
One of the largest companies in the world covering a range of Pharmaceutical and Healthcare products and innovative development. The Cambridge site specialises in the design and development of drug delivery devices / patient device interactions and invests heavily in recruiting the best engineers and designers to contribute to the growing portfolio.

Experience
You will need to demonstrate at least 5 years’ experience within Human Factors Engineering, ideally within drug delivery and the ability to manage multiple projects across various stages of the product cycle. The successful candidate will also display exceptional knowledge within the technicalities of medical device design and usability factors and their relation to regulatory submission/approval within a commercial environment. Reporting to the global drug delivery device team you will be involved in perfecting the drug delivery devices that ultimately end up in the hands of millions of patients around the world, so attention to detail is vital alongside the ability to work to tight deadlines.

An advanced qualification in Human Factors or Usability Research within a medical application would also be desirable.
