The Opportunity:
This opportunity has been created due to their rapid expansion and the subsequent need to create a harmonised strategy for the administration of intellectual property, patents and grants.  You will be part of the team that develops and then maintains the strategy for these key areas to support their growth.  To then take on overall responsibility for the identification of the administration of these areas to maximise opportunities for funding and create a cost – effective patent portfolio.  This role requires you to often work autonomously and be proactive with the support of the CFO when needed.  You will identify new patent or grant applications to make the most of these opportunities working with senior member of the company. 

This role also includes the drafting and filing of applications for intellectual property, patents and grants as well as managing renewal management for patents.  In addition you will take part in grant project review meetings and liaise with external grant bodies, legal bodies, third party collaborators, and grant project managers.  As the Administrator you will ensure compliance with relevant regulations, guidelines and timetables that are to be adhered to within the company.

Desired Skills and Experience:
For this opportunity you will need to have a degree in a relevant life science such as Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Synthetic Biology or Biomedical Sciences for example.  You will need to have prior experience in a similar role that has given you knowledge of intellectual property, grants, funding, patents and the administration / management.  You do not need to have worked within the sector before but this I advantageous to you application if you have.
