I am looking for a Junior R&D Engineer for a growing MedTech company within Optical Technology and specializes in Image Processing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. They have transitioned from start-up to scale up and are expanding overseas into US as they have performed well and secured funding from VC firm, Midven.
Your role will include:
The individual will be responsible for:
- Develop concepts and prototypes of electro-mechanical, electro optical assemblies of medical devices with a specialism towards eye-tracking and ophthalmic lens mapping technology.
- Ensure the devices meet required safety and regulatory requirements and all documentation requirements.
- Take scientific concepts and apply them to physical devices.
- Develop and assess performance of algorithms using Python and/or MATLAB.
- Use rapid prototyping/rapid manufacturing for interactive design development.

Skills and Experience Required:
Relevant experience for the role is:
- Graduate Mathematician or Physicist or Computer Scientist
- A hands-on approach to developing and delivering R&D projects in line with the companies technical and commercial goals.
- Knowledge of machine learning solutions /machine vision devices and algorithms.
