Visioncare is a key sector within this leading, global ophthalmic company who are at the forefront of developing new leading technologies to the market across a range of sectors ranging from surgical medical devices to pharmaceutical.  Their Visioncare team provide a market leading range of contact lenses and other consumables to the sector working with well known high street names to smaller local groups and independents.  They have recently completed a turnaround phase which they want to take advantage of to establish themselves as the market leader in this fast developing field.

The company are head quartered in the UK in Kingston and are a multinational company that was established in the US in 1853 and since then been at the forefront of vision innovation.  They provide products across a variety of sectors which are Surgical Medical Devices, Vision Care (contact lenses and associated consumables), Pharmaceuticals and Nutraceuticals. Role Purpose:
As the Key Account Manager you will be responsible for the key national accounts including well known high street names, with a focus on one recently brought on board to ensure the relationships are profitable and mutually beneficial.  Taking control of the sales process including negotiations, areas of potential, how to target, product launches, and implanting the strategy to ensure success.  The accounts are not just in the UK with established accounts who have a presence in Europe which will fall under your remit.   The Key Account Manager is a strategic and influential position forming part of the wider management team with the Business Unit Head (who you report to) and the National Sales Manager.

This is a critical role that will have a significant impact on the success of the wider department due to the value of the business you will be responsible for bringing in and developing.  Added to this is that they have recently completed a turnaround phase to focus on establishing themselves at the front of the market  meaning you will be taking on a role where you will be able to carve out your niche using your skills and expertise to do so.

Person Specification:
This role requires candidates who preferably have optical / ophthalmology experience with the gravitas to manage large key accounts successfully with a history of success as well as able to contribute to the strategy for the team.  If you do not have the optical / ophthalmology experience then similar key account management within pharmaceutical and healthcare within retail / OTC is just as relevant.  You will need to be able to take control of the sales process, manage negotiations with major national organisations, and manage relationships.
