The Company
The company is a world class medical supplies wholesaler and distributor, specialising in importing and exporting pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to markets across the globe. They are experts at sourcing products, consolidating orders, and organising shipments, no matter what the destination.
Role Responsibilities:
- Managing inbound shipments from suppliers, outbound shipments to customers, shipments between company’s different warehouses
- Getting quotes from and negotiating with freight forwarders and courier firms to assist with the Sales and Procurement Team
- Supporting the Sales and Procurement Teams seamless integration of Logistics and Warehouse functions with other functions in the sales process
- Ensuring GDP/GMP compliance, internal SOP’s and insurance policies
- Resolving any shipment issues whilst liaising with Sales Managers, Quality and Procurement
- Compiling logistics records, including shipping documentation (airway bills, proof of export and delivery) as well as preparing documentation for external audits
- Overall responsibility for warehousing function via managing the warehouse team whilst maintaining excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
- Managing relationships with 3PL providers providing overseas warehousing
- Stepping in when necessary picking, packing, and dispatching of products
- Overseeing in house over labelling operations
- Minimum 5 years’ logistics experience, preferably international experience
- Strong line management experience
- Knowledge of logistics and warehousing within the Pharmaceutical industry
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and professional manner with the ability to maintain and build long lasting relationships
