This is a contract for 18 months initially, with a very good chance of extension beyond this. You will be surrounded by supportive, knowledgeable scientists who can help you develop your expertise. Working on a temporary basis, you will be paid via an umbrella company and the pay rate will range from £17 to £23.74 per hour depending on experience.
Your role will include:
- Determination of physical attributes for API's/excipient's using a range of characterisation techniques, including microscopy and both image and laser diffraction particle size.
- Determination of solid state attributes for API's/excipient's using a range of characterisation and thermodynamic techniques., including DSC, TGA and various spectroscopic methods.
- Optimization of tests to describe API/excipient's attributes, how these relate to DP performance, including methods to assess flow, compression, and segregation properties.
- Perform experiments in accordance with good laboratory practices (GLP), established business processes and protocols, and applicable SOPs.
- Document laboratory work that is detailed, timely and in compliance with GLP
- Evaluating, interpreting and reporting of results through presentations and technical reports, particularly translation of scientific output and technical content into a language understood by wide customer base.
Education and Skills Required
- Background in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Formulation Science or similar
- Practical experience in the application of material characterisation methods to evaluate pharmaceutical materials.
- Ability to work independently, and to present scientific results and conclusions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to design, follow and review protocols, scientific methods, and departmental procedures.
