The Role
This motivated Process Engineer will join the Cell Process Development team within the Process Development department and focus on the development of highly productive and robust cell processes. The ideal candidate must be strong team player and have an ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams. A strong affinity for the laboratory, data analysis and process optimisation with demonstrated success using cell processing techniques is expected.

Responsibilities & Experience

  • Develop manufacturing processes for cell therapy products

  • Design experiments and perform hands on work in a cell culture laboratory

  • Perform technology transfer and process training for eventual GMP clinical production

  • Knowledge of bioprocessing equipment and hands-on experience with different biopharmaceutical unit operations is required

  • Demonstrated cell culture and aseptic processing experience is required including basic cell culture lab techniques such as cell passaging, cryopreservation, formulation of media, aseptic technique using a BSC, cell counting, and managing reagents

  • Mastery of scientific and engineering principles with cell processing systems, flow cytometry and cell-based assays is desirable

  • Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing of biotechnology products, aseptic processing, cell therapy products and process development

  • Master’s degree in Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology or equivalent with 2-3 years of pharmaceutical manufacturing, technology transfer or process development experience. Engineering degree preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology or equivalent with 3+ years of experience. Engineering degree preferred.
