Proposal Manager, Logistical Services

Summary
Based in Edinburgh, Lothian, Scotland this is a permanent opportunity with a leading global logistical services provider. The company leads the market in logistical solutions for the pharmaceutical sector and is backed by a global depot network. This role will suit a person with around 2 to 3 years Proposal, Bid, Quotation or Pricing Management experience where they focus on pricing. You will need to be good with, and enjoy work with, figures as well as spreadsheets and be able to assess requirements and coordinate the production of proposals with a good understanding of commercial factors.

They are the leading provider of clinical trial services backed by a state-of-the-art depot network and logistic hubs in 45 locations worldwide. The company employs nearly 700 staff managing over 50,000 shipments a month to more than 150 countries. Services include project management, labelling, shipments, returns and direct to patient services. 

The Role
The focus of this role is the coordination, generation and pricing of proposals for the provision of clinical trial distribution and direct to patient solutions that meet individual client needs. This will involve interpretation of requirements and liaison with internal key stakeholders including Business Development, Operations and Quality Assurance. Based on the information gathered, resource analysis, timelines and risk analysis professional and commercially competitive proposals will be generated with the final contents being agreed internally prior to client submission. Other aspects of the role will include supporting Business Development, maintaining pricing templates and coordinating rates with 3rd party vendors. You will need to be good with, and enjoy work with, figures as well as spreadsheets.

The key purpose of the position is to provide accurate, profitable, competitive and winning service and pricing proposals based on the requirements of the client. Full training will be provided on the specific processes and procedures based on the individuals’ requirements.  

Experience 
We are seeking an ambitious person with around 2 to 3 years Proposal Management, Quotations Management, Bid Management or Pricing Management experience possibly looking for a first job move in their career. You will need to be good with, and enjoy work with, figures as well as spreadsheets and be able to assess requirements and coordinate the production of costings and proposals with a good understanding of commercial factors. You will need good business acumen, computing skills including Excel, and first-rate communication abilities plus a full appreciation of prices, costs and margins. The company is flexible regarding sector experience although experience in pharmaceutical products, healthcare products, clinical trials, logistical, distribution or courier / carrier services would be useful.
