They are seeking a Scientist to join their brand new plasmid production facility with the responsibility to lead and support a range of commercial projects. There is a focus on analytical techniques for this role to be used for scale up, characterisation and QC purposes.
The responsibilities of Scientist includes:
Contribute to the design and execution of complex commercial projects
Performing analytical assays for characterisation and QC of plasmid DNA batches. Such as – qPCR, ELISA etc.
Provide leadership to the team through the mentorship and training of less experienced colleagues.
Work in collaboration with colleagues in upstream & downstream process development.
Analysing results to direct projects and present to colleagues or collaborators.
Work on cross departmental projects as required.
They are seeking a scientist with the following experience:
MSc or BSc with demonstrable relevant lab experience or PhD in relevant discipline.
Experience in QC of Plasmid DNA, preferably in a commercial environment.
Experience in the use of standard molecular cloning techniques including PCR, restriction digestion, agarose gel electrophoresis, and DNA ligations for example.
Experience in the use of analytical assays such as ELISA.
Understanding of biological systems / biopharmaceutical production / biochemical molecule interactions.
Experience of working in a regulated environment is advantageous nut not essential
If you have GMP experience this is advantageous but not essential.
