Alex Dobson is recruiting for a Regional Account Manager who is looking to forward their career within the sales industry. The crux of the position is to look after existing and new customers in relation to sales, customer service, technical support, alongside the specifying of complete packaging options for companies across the South of England and South Wales. This fantastic opportunity has been created due to their continuous investment in business expansion, staff development and technologies.

The Company

The company are an internationally recognised, Award Winning supplier and wholesaler of containers and closures within the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. They have a strong presence around the European Market with over 1000 clients based both nationally and internationally. As an organisation, they are a manufacture representative which means they are responsible for their own sales and customers service.

The Role

The candidate would be expected to generate new leads and customers by means of active market research, and proactive contacting of companies across the Biotech, R&D, CMO/CRO, Diagnostic and other associated markets. To supply technical information, guidance and support. In addition, you will be the face of the company and their suppliers within your territory. You will be involved in all aspects of a project including discussions regarding order forecasting, pricing, etc, and be involved with discussions with customers at all levels from laboratory, warehouse to board. The candidate would be expected to arrange and book meetings with customers across the region and arrange planned visits to meet a number of customers in person.  You would be expected to attend exhibitions with colleagues, as well as to join and look after suppliers should they choose to visit the UK.

A full driving license would be essential and a company car would be provided, as would mobile phone, laptop, company credit card, etc. Foreign travel (primarily in Europe) can be expected; to visit production plants with customers and look after the customers as a representative of the organisation. The candidate would be based in the office in West Sussex, and be taking calls and email enquiries from customer’s within their territory. You will be supporting (and being supported by) other members of the staff when it comes to liaising on the topics of administration / pricing and account management. The candidate will look after their own paperwork on customers and prospects / projects and will be responsible for keeping detailed records of conversations and meetings held.



  • Prior Sales and Account Management experience
  • Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical and Diagnostic Industry would be advantageous
  • Some supervisory experience
  • Ability to network with existing and new clients
  • Time management and ability to priorities work is a must
  • Able to be re-active when opportunities arise and attention to detail is key
