A truly pioneering Biotech who are developing technologies aimed at accelerating the discovery and manufacture of Cell & Gene Therapies.  With the aim to deliver breakthroughs first so that these life changing therapies reach patients faster.   They are focused on two specific areas – Discovery and Bio Manufacture Their discovery technologies are aimed at accelerating the development of CAR – T, CRISPR, DNA Plasmid, and Capsid R&D programmes.  Their bio manufacturing expertise accelerates the development of scalable manufacture of lentiviral, AAV or adenoviral based therapeutics.

They are seeking a Scientist to join their newly established AAV Capsid Screening Team that is part of their wider AAV R&D Group.  The focus of this role is to support the development of their novel pipeline working on commercial and internal R&D programmes. 

The responsibilities of Scientist includes:

  • Contribute to the design and execution of complex commercial and R&D projects
  • Using your expertise to make recommendations to optimise procedures, and processes.
  • Analysing experimental results, providing a way forwards, troubleshooting using your scientific expertise.
  • Mentoring more junior members of the team
  • Recommending appropriate publications and writing of papers for submission. 
  • Drafting patents by working with internal colleagues.
  • Keep up to date with latest developments in the field.
 

They are seeking a scientist with the following experience:

  • MSc with demonstrable lab based experience of PhD in relevant discipline.
  • Strong Molecular Biology experience in PCR, flow cytometry and transfections
  • Experience in the fields of lentivirus and / or AAV
  • Experience of mammalian cell culture including primary human cells.
  • Experience of CRISPR or related gene editing approaches or genome engineering technologies.
  • If you have experience of using robotic or liquid handling automation systems is an advantage.
