A brand new role has been created for experienced Formulation Scientist to join an innovative Biotech company who are opening a new formulation facility in Eastbourne. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, hard-working individual with experience of GLP, analytical techniques such as HPLC and UV spectroscopy, as well as some experience working with developing topical formulations and surface linking of molecules to carrier systems. This is an ideal position if you feel you want to push your career to the next level and undertake broader responsibilities and autonomy. Candidates will be considered with more and less experience, at both the ends of the scale between £35,000 and £45,000 salaries.

Company Description
You will join an exciting and innovative business who have developed and patented a novel drug delivery carrier. They can load it with a range of ingredients, ranging from DNA to vitamins and proteins. They are also able to alter the design of their carrier to be polypharmaceutical, allowing several different methods for administration and timed release. This means the carrier can be used across the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and animal health sectors. The company is headquartered in Guildford, Surrey, England and is now opening a formulation facility in Eastbourne. The facility will be manufacturing different versions of the carrier for cosmetic and pharmaceutical products.

The Opportunity
You will be working at the company’s laboratory in Eastbourne alongside the Head of Formulation, within a relatively small team. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Analysis and data interpretation
  • Working with molecule linking with carrier systems
  • Execute experimental protocols
  • Formulation development for a variety of new health products
  • Upstream processing
  • Using Franz Cells and atomic absorption techniques

Experience 

  • PhD in Pharmaceutical Science or Chemistry
  • Familiarity of GLP
  • Commercial or academic experience working with surface linking molecules
  • Experience developing new formulation methods
  • Experience with nutraceuticals
