Founded over 15 years ago and situated beside the Thames, you will be joining the CDMO arm of a company that is creating a paradigm shift within the gene therapy industry by creating synthetic DNA via enzymatic processes which is proven to be faster, safer, and more cost efficient than standard fermentation methods.
It is a very exciting opportunity for an experienced scientist that can deal very well under pressure, and is looking improve their industry experience working on DNA manufacturing by joining a small company that is undergoing rampant growth, with the principal responsibility in this role being to genetically engineer plasmid DNA starting material for its patented synthetic DNA product.
Key skills and experience:
- 2+ years industry experience constructing plasmids
- 1 year+ experience working in GMP environments
- Experience creating theoretical sequence maps / primer design / bacterial transformation and amplification
- Practical, demonstrable experience of creating own strategies and experiment design relevant to constructing complex plasmids
- Working on DNA purification kits at varying scales using kits / self-packed hardware
- Experience in a client facing role
- Demonstrable experience working under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Experience in cloning methods such as PCR, Golden Gate and Gibson Assembly
Strongly Desired:
- Experience working in a CDMO environment
- Demonstrable experience using 3+ cloning methods for one plasmid construct
