A pioneering Biotech whose ambitions are to deliver innovative & life changing therapies to patients for a range of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.  They have a unique T -cell based technology that they are harnessing to develop the next generation of therapies that are now progressing towards the clinic and have an expanding pipeline. 

They are seeking a Lead Scientist who will be a key part in the development of their therapies and their transition from Discovery to IND submission.  Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Product Development and working in collaboration with the wider R&D Group.  The Lead Scientist will be responsible for the characterisation of therapies and the transfer of knowledge between the R&D and CMC Teams.

The core responsibilities are:

•           Lead the design, development, and execution of complex R&D programmes, analyse results and present findings.

•           Supervise, mentor, and develop a team.

•           Lead the technical input into assay set up, optimisation and troubleshooting.

•           Analyse data to be presented during team and departmental meetings.

•           Manage external collaborations as an SME.

•           Keep pace with the latest developments in the field and horizon scanning activities.

 Key Required Expertise:

•           Expertise in T – Cell Biology

•           Understanding of immunology and T Cell Biology

•           Experience in the use of Flow Cytometry and Immunological Assays

•           Supervisory experience

•           PhD in T – cells / Cell Therapy / Immunology or related area with academic and / or commercial experience.

Preferable Skills & Experience

•           Experience of Drug Development process from inception to IND

•           Experience in the use of Cytek Aurora or NxT Attune flow cytometers

•           Exposure to Tregs and understanding of their biology.
