As the Senior/Principal Machine Learning Scientist, you will play a crucial role in powering our AI platform, advancing our drug discovery pipeline through cutting-edge machine learning models and algorithms. Collaborating closely with chemists, biologists, and data scientists, you will design and implement proprietary technology for early-stage drug discovery. Mentoring and sharing knowledge with fellow team members will be an integral part of this role, fostering a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment. Additionally, you will analyze complex biological and chemical data, identifying patterns, trends, and potential drug candidates.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of state-of-the-art machine learning models and algorithms for our AI platform, elevating drug discovery capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement proprietary technology for early-stage drug discovery.
- Mentor and share knowledge with team members, promoting a multidisciplinary and impactful work environment.
- Drive the technical execution of programs and research methods to overcome challenges.
- Work closely with medicinal chemists and biologists to translate ideas into actionable insights on our platform.
- Analyze and interpret complex biological and chemical data to identify promising drug candidates.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and drug discovery, exploring opportunities to integrate novel methodologies and technologies into our research.
- D. in computer science or related field, or a Ph.D. in Chemistry/Life Science related field, with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience in Machine Learning models design for drug discovery applications. Alternatively, an MS with 8 years of industry experience.
- Proven industry experience of at least 5 years, preferably in a small start-up environment, with a focus on early-stage drug discovery applications.
- Demonstrated track record of developing innovative machine learning solutions for real-life challenges.
- Strong expertise in machine learning, data mining, and statistical analysis techniques, with successful application in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Solid understanding of the underlying math and statistical learning concepts in modern machine learning techniques.
- Familiarity with modern Deep Learning Architectures like Transformers and Graph Neural Networks.
- Publications or research in fields related to artificial intelligence.
- Comfortable with modern software development practices (Git, Issue tracking, code-review, CI/CD, etc).
- Ability to thrive in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment.
Desired Skills & Attributes:
- Knowledge of chemical informatics, molecular modeling, and drug discovery workflows.
- Familiarity with Computational Chemistry methods.
