An exciting opportunity for a Software Test Engineer contractor has arisen with one of our clients based in Cambridge. They are at the forefront of combining software and science for software healthcare products. They are looking for someone with a growth mindset, problem solving ability and curiosity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Write and review test plans and functional requirements, ensuring that functionality is well specified and has a good level of test coverage
Implement automated E2E, integration and unit tests, making use of technologies such as TypeScript, Jest and Selenium
Carry out manual testing, helping to flush out problems early through exploratory testing and delivering evidence of the software’s quality through formal manual verification ahead of releases
Write and review appropriate documentation to demonstrate the products adhere to the required regulatory standards
Ensure all documentation and test records are accurate, organised and auditable.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Essential:
A desire to build meaningful healthcare software applications that improve the quality of people’s everyday lives
A commitment to quality and a keen eye for detail
3+ years commercial software testing experience, including experience writing automated tests across the “test pyramid”
Experience with technologies such as Selenium, Jest, Jasmine, TypeScript / JavaScript or similar
Experience of using an Agile methodology and in participating in software development sprints / iterations
A desire to work in an inclusive environment where everyone feeds into continuous improvement and where all team members share knowledge to nurture the team’s overall skill base
A strong academic record, educated to degree level or holding equivalent relevant professional experience
Desirable:
Experience working with real-time streaming of data
Experience of testing software under a formal quality management system or within a regulated industry
Experience with Atlassian’s suite of tools, especially Jira for issue tracking
Knowledge / experience of Linux system administration
