We are looking for an energetic, collaborative, honest and versatile person to join a pioneering company at the forefront of synthetic and stem cell biology, manufacturing human cells for research and drug discovery purposes. This is a permanent position, paying a very generous salary and benefits. You will be based full-time in the company’s modern site in Cambridge, with flexibility around start / finish times. You will therefore need to live within commutable distance of Cambridge or be prepared to move to the area.
Reporting to a Senior Scientist with expertise in Hepatocytes, your role will include:
- The development and execution of experimental assays to generate specific cell types of interest from human pluripotent stem cells, using cellular reprogramming approaches
- Analysis and interpretation of data from cellular reprogramming experiments, reporting of data, and experimental troubleshooting as required.
- Working with internal and external collaborators to characterise the cell types of interest generated through the Cell Type Development process.
- Facilitating technology transfer across team.
- Supporting the design, development, and implementation of the Cell Type Development team. This includes assay design/implementation/execution, LIMS/samples tracking, resource management, SOP writing and process development.
- Contributing towards the completion of documentation and reports required during the Cell Type Development process and its milestone stage-gates.
- In the collaboration with the leading Senior Scientist, support the cell line and experiment delivery to a wide variety of stake holders.

Skills and Experience Required:
- Either a PhD or a BSc/Msc with some experience gained in an academic or private research environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with people at all levels
- Proactive, driven, pragmatic, open-minded, emotionally intelligent, positive and respectful approach to your work
- Strong practical and theoretical background in hESC or hIPSC culture and differentiation/reprogramming or functional cell type expertise.
- Strong practical and theoretical background in characterisation of cells in vitro – experiment QC and project delivery
