The Royal County of Berkshire is a county in south east England to the west of London. Major towns in Berkshire include Reading, Slough, Bracknell, Maidenhead, Newbury and Windsor. The area along Thames Valley or M4 corridor which includes Reading, Bracknell and Newbury has the highest concentration of technology companies in the UK, the county is also home to numerous pharmaceutical, biotech and life sciences companies ranging from start-ups to global corporations. For sports fans Berkshire is home to Reading town FC, London Irish RC and several famous race courses including Windsor, Newbury, Marlow and Ascot, the latter hosting the world famous Royal Meeting in June each year.
