We are headhunting for a global top 20 Pharmaceutical company who are looking to expand their Clinical Operation Systems Support team. Our client is known for their innovative products, they are contributing to finding solutions to improve quality of life for a growing population by focusing on research and development activities on preventing and treating diseases.
The Clinical Operations Senior Systems Manager will ensure that Trial Management IT tools are optimally developed and utilized with the aim to increase efficiency of trial conduct, enhance end user and/or external customer satisfaction, and maintain high quality deliverables. This will be achieved through determination of functional needs, analysis of vendor capabilities, and collaboration and alignment with related functions.
The role is available as an initial 12-month contract, with a good chance of extension. On offer is a daily rate from £350/day - £425/day depending on experience. The position is fully remote with occasional travel to their headquarters in the UK.
Responsibilities of the Clinical Operations Senior Systems Manager:
- Leadership of complex cross-functional initiative global project teams as assigned and provides expertise (including compilation user requirements) into development of relevant systems to enable efficient study start-up and conduct activities and to maximize end user and/or external customer satisfaction.
- Expert knowledge of relevant tools and advises organization for optimal utilization of these tools:
- Develop business rules and system policies/procedures
- Manages efforts to coordinate and perform administration tasks for relevant Trial Management owned tools
- Manages UAT and system validation activities on behalf of the business function
- Drives quality checks and housekeeping activities on key tools
- Develops system training and manages events as requested
- Implement Systems Strategy, in collaboration with Head of Systems Support
- Collaborate with system specialist (superuser) networks
- Analyzes reporting options to facilitate operational plan compliance for study teams
- Leads advanced troubleshooting on escalated system issues
- Mentor Jr. Systems Managers
Skillset required to be the successful Clinical Operations Senior Systems Manager:
- The incumbent must have a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) with 8 years of relevant healthcare experience including at least 5 years of relevant clinical operations experience. Strong technical expertise preferred.
- Broad understanding of global clinical operations processes and ability to translate these processes into relevant integrated IT solutions.
- Strategic mindset to ensure deliverables are aligned with overarching vision of business function
- Flexibility to rapidly adapt to changing business needs and priorities
- Effective technical and analytical skills to identify, evaluate, and propose innovative solutions to issues
- Proven ability to initiate and lead teams/projects to achieve desired results
- Ability to present and communicate comfortably with management
- Able to collaborate effectively within a multi-cultural, global, matrix organization
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Will lead more complex cross-functional projects with a large impact on the business. The deliverables will be globally utilized and will affect multiple functions. The Sr. Systems Manager must be able to act independently and be accountable for project decision-making. Proven Project Management experience.
- Experience with Veeva Clinical Vault would be preferred
