An experienced HTA (Health Technology Assessment) Associate Director is required on an initial 9-month contract (likelihood of extension). Responsibilities:
Role Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership
  • Based on the changing reimbursement environment provide guidance on the implementation of health economic and outcomes research (HEOR) evidence generation strategies to support the value proposition of an asset
  • Work in collaboration with the market access and HTA operations teams to ensure the HEOR activities are aligned with the end-to-end market access strategy.
  • Be an ambassador for H&V as an HTA expert internally (x-functionally at a local and global level)
 
Technical Expertise
  • Be responsible for managing HTA submission strategies of vaccine assets (JCVI) from start to finish.
  • Provide strategic and/or technical input into outcome study designs, RWE collection, economic models; evidence synthesis projects as well as pricing and HTA readiness activities.
  • Partner with the HTA senior economist to develop an asset evaluation, robust value propositions and negotiation packages for payers and other external parties, to demonstrate the holistic value of vaccines.
 
Quality assurance of HTA Projects
  • Provide clarity to the cross-functional team where the biggest areas of uncertainty for an assets HTA submission is and how to address to achieve a JCVI recommendation Conduct regular review points during, and after, the HTA submission (or touch points with academics and KOLs) to ensure any learnings are embed within the HTA team.

Required skillset:

Qualifications
  • Postgraduate qualification in Health Economics or Outcomes Research or Infectious disease modelling
 
Experience
  • Demonstrable experience in all aspects of HTA submissions to JCVI, NICE & SMC
  • Experience of designing, building and adapting health economics models for infectious disease and/or vaccines.
  • Significant experience of conducting evidence generation (SLRs, NMAs, ITCs)
  • Thorough understanding of the UK healthcare system and NIPs
 
Skills
  • Strong research skills, with ability to build, adapt and critique health economic models and source data inputs. Experience working with infectious disease/vaccine models preferred.
  • Existence of, or ability to develop, internal and external networks.
  • Demonstrated time management skills, including the ability to manage own time and others time to meet deadlines and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
