Medicinal Chemistry Senior Scientist required for a global Life Sciences company who provide contract research services in Integrated Drug Discovery, Medicinal Chemistry, in vitro pharmacology and ADME which are combined under one platform to provide a comprehensive solution for their clients. They have an extensive track record of drug discovery services to advance their mission to discover and develop effective therapeutics.
 
The Medicinal Chemistry Senior Scientist will be based at their site in Essex and be part of their growing Medicinal Chemistry Team. Their successful Medicinal Chemistry Group is based on a foundation of strong synthetic execution skills combined with a fundamental understanding of key factors in drug discovery, such as structure-activity relationships, the interpretation of biological data, the importance of physicochemical properties, and a profound general knowledge of drugs and their activities.  They have delivered clinical candidates and backup compounds in multiple therapeutic areas.
 
On offer for the Medicinal Chemistry Senior Scientist is a competitive salary up to £50,000 and benefits package which includes a bonus. There will be plenty of career progression opportunities available as they look to grow the team over the next 18 months.
 
The required skillset for the Medicinal Chemistry Senior Scientist:
 
  • PhD or Graduate educated medicinal chemists with interest and experience of medicinal chemistry design principles combined with good synthetic chemistry skills are key requirements.
  • A strong industrial background in Medicinal Chemistry would be advantageous.
  • As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for designing and synthesising compounds with desirable biological activities in support of hit to lead and lead optimisation projects.
  • You should also have good communication skills together with efficient scientific record-keeping practices.
