Working in recruitment is very different to what it used to be, especially at Next Phase. We do not have a pushy sales manner, nor are we targeted with making a certain number of calls or sending a specific number of CVs out per day. There are similarities between modern recruitment and digital marketing, and as a result we are looking for someone who is technology-savvy and has excellent written English, to be able to create engaging blogs and articles. The Company
Next Phase is a highly respected specialist recruitment company, based in the centre of Horsham, partnering with a number of the leading organisations within the Life Science sector. Areas we cover include Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Medical Device innovation, Medical Communications and International Logistics. Next Phase used to be known as SLS Services and rebranded in June 2017 following significant investment from the Chairman of APSCo (Association of Professional Staffing Companies). Next Phase is founded on excellence of service and we have put in a great deal of work recently into optimising and updating the office space, computer system, flexible working opportunities and company branding. The successful candidate for this new position will be given an extensive amount of training and the opportunity to develop and grow through the business. It can take some time to get “up and running” in recruitment and we are therefore wanting to identify and invest in an individual who has the work ethic, intellect, curiosity, people skills and general creativity to push themselves forward.
The Opportunity
As our new Recruitment Consultant, you will gradually become a specialist within specific areas of gene editing and personalised medicine. You will get to know a number of individuals across different geographical locations (inside and outside the UK) and will use this network to identify the people who are true leaders in their field, representing them in application to new job opportunities.
You will write blogs and share content about scientific innovations, create attractive adverts, conduct interviews and sell career opportunities to job seekers at different levels (predominantly from Senior Scientist level up to Director level). You will negotiate and agree terms of business with new clients, for the provision of both permanent and contract staff, and will build your network so that everyone in your sector gradually gets to know you as the go-to person when they are either looking for a new role or hoping to hire someone into their team.

Experience
The successful candidate will have excellent people skills, backed with an interest (and perhaps an educational background) in scientific innovation. Previous experience in recruitment would be a significant advantage but is not essential. Candidates will also be considered from sales, customer service or account management roles, from industries including digital marketing and estate agency if you do not have recruitment experience.
