A Senior Project Manager is required to join a fantastic Cell & Gene Therapy company based in Essex. They work with partners to address the technical and commercial challenges associated with the development of these exciting, cutting-edge treatments. The Essex site is a state-of-the-art world leading innovation centre for commercial scale Cell and Gene Therapy products supporting the existing facilities within the company. The Senior Project Manager will be helping to change the future of the cell therapy industry and the right candidate will have an opportunity to be part of something challenging and unique.
 
The Senior Project Manager is highly visible to the senior management team and will be delivering upon a structured project management programme. The role will report directly to the Director of Corporate Services. This will be a highly visible role across the site and will impact substantially upon the future success of the organisation. This role will work closely with the Director of Corporate Services, the Programme Management Support Manager, workstream leads, senior management and across the business to enable the successful delivery of multiple projects.
 
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the assigned projects, and in addition, will:
  • Ensure business readiness and that all the project objectives and business benefits are delivered on time in full and to budget
  • Provide support to help others ensure that there is a defined and agreed vision of the future state including a fit for purpose Target Operating Model (TOM)
  • Ensure that required costs and benefits are evaluated and reported
  • Work closely with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of the projects to schedule and within budget
  • Utilising exiting Project Planning tools develop detailed work breakdown structures and project plans to ensure delivery of agreed outcomes, maintaining a focus of the sites General Manufacturing Principles & Public Contracts Regulation 2015 requirements
  • Work collaboratively with the workstream leads to ensure that they are able to deliver and adapt to situations to ensure the correct delivery of the projects
  • High level of communication to all stakeholders both within the project team and senior management via the Programme Management Support Manager for internal & external reporting purposes
 
Key Accountabilities:
  • Prepare detailed technical programme of works in collaboration with internal disciplinary experts, scope out resource needs, compile budgets and spend forecasts
  • Ensure delivery of project through detailed project planning, problem solving and collaborative coordinated teamwork to deliver on milestones to time, quality expectations and budget
  • Clear unequivocal reporting to stakeholders
  • Able to define issues and opportunities and evaluate new concepts and ideas whilst identifying recommendations and solutions

Experience:
  • Has proven experience of managing multiple projects of differing size, complexity & duration simultaneously that have had significant impact across multiple business areas to time, costs and quality standards
  • Experience of project management within, biotech, biopharma, CMO / CRO’s, or supply chain preferred but not essential
  • Fully competent at project planning, risk management, and dependency-management
  • Has proven knowledge of the principles and concepts that underpin project management and can advise on a ‘Good Practice’ approach to business change
  • A flexible approach to work assignments
  • An ability to manage multiple and varied tasks and to prioritise the workload whilst maintaining attention to details
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills aligned with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with peers and senior managers and project team members
  • Ability to manage and support the development of junior team members
 
Education / Qualifications:
  • Educated to a higher Degree level
  • Certified IAPM/Prince 2 Practitioner/AgilePM ScrumMaster/PPM or similar
  • Change Management Professional certification such as Prosci / Kotter 8 Step Model
  • Membership in Association of Change Management Professionals is desirable
  • An MSP Practitioner
