SharePoint Developer – fully remote
 
A fully remote SharePoint developer needed for a leading research-based biopharmaceutical company based in Sandwich, UK. This company has provided over 170 vaccinations and medicines, improving the lives of millions of people around the UK. The focus of their site in Sandwich is on the manufacture of medicines for use in clinical trials worldwide.
 
The company is seeking a SharePoint Developer whose main responsibilities will be to support current SharePoint site activities while implementing a new design as an upgrade for the current site. The SharePoint developer will also map out a departmental system landscape and incorporate workflows.
 
This position is a 12-month contract role with a strong possibility of extension. This role can be done fully remote on 37 hour/week basis. The company is offering a competitive hourly rate.
 
 
Key responsibilities of the SharePoint Developer:
  • Meet with manager on a weekly basis to understand work needs, prioritize work, and agree on designs.
  • Meet with customers to gather requirements, identify opportunities, revise designs, and provide ongoing training and support.
  • Build off-the-shelf and custom SharePoint solutions to address customer needs.
  • Leverage existing systems when possible (e.g., Portfolio management, electronic lab notebooks, document management systems, etc.).
  • Maintain current awareness of advances in information systems and identify opportunities for new technology, methodologies, and processes.
  • Ensure safe working practices are maintained.
  • Expand and develop knowledge of pharmaceutical drug product development systems, workflows, best practices, and information while exploring new information and communication systems technologies.
  • Expand experience of drug development process through interface/interactions with colleagues.
  • Develop the necessary communication, negotiating and influencing skills to operate in a multidisciplinary environment
Education
  • A degree in chemistry, biology, physics, engineering, or a similar Pharma-related field or an undergraduate or graduate degree in an IT-related field.
 
Experience needed:
  • SharePoint experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Highly proficient in SharePoint 2013 and SharePoint Online enterprise systems.
  • Good programming knowledge and capability in Python
  • Basic understanding of software engineering concepts such as methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Extreme Programming, Waterfall), use case diagrams, entity relationship diagrams, data flow diagrams and IT architecture.
  • Experience with basic database design and function.
  • Efficient with Microsoft products (Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Good user interface design skills, with SharePoint template building experience.
