An IT Data Analyst is required to join a fantastic UK based Biotechnology company who specialise in Cell and Gene Therapy. The IT Data Analyst will be responsible for managing the IT Business Systems master data set, develop reports, and troubleshoot data issues. The IT Data Analyst requires fine attention to detail, proven experience as a data analyst, and a profound understanding of the popular data analysis tools and databases.

On offer is a competitive salary up to £42,000 depending on experience. As well as a benefits package which includes an annual bonus and 28 days annual holiday. The role offers a mixture of remote working and office work.

Key responsibilities of the IT Data Analyst include:

  • Manage master data, including creation, updates, and deletion.

  • Defining user roles and profiles which will require access to the datasets.

  • Provide quality assurance of imported data and work closely with quality assurance analyst if and when necessary.

  • Commissioning and decommissioning of data sets.

  • Processing confidential data and information according to guidelines.

  • Assist in development of reports and analysis.

  • Manage and design the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.

  • Support the warehouse with data systems, to identify and revise any reporting requirements.

  • Support initiatives for data integrity and normalisation.

  • Generate reports from single or multiple systems.

  • Troubleshoot the reporting database environment and reports.

  • Evaluate changes and updates to source production systems.

  • Train end users on new reports and dashboards.

  • Provide technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.

The IT Data Analyst will have the following experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field; or equivalent work experience

  • Proven previous experience working as a Data Analyst or similar field.

  • Proven ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential data risks.

  • Ability to analyse existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical terminology.

  • Proven high-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large scale databases.

  • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and Data warehouses.

  • Good understanding of addressing metadata standards / issues.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Willingness to support and mentor junior team members.

  • Excellent customer facing/customer service skills.

  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • A high degree of flexibility including shift and out of hours working.

  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.

  • Self-motivation and able to take responsibility.

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise tasks within a time efficiently manor.

  • Able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks.

  • Performs other duties as and when directed.
