I am currently recruiting for a Principal Analytical Development Scientist with a fast-growing, leading CDMO who are one of the biggest global pharma companies in Portugal reaching just under 2,000 team members across Europe, Asia and North America. I am headhunting for their growing analytical team, with their main focus being their manufacturing and R&D portfolio.
 
The successful candidate will be an analytical chemist expert and be the interface between the analytical team and clients. 
I am seeking an experienced and highly qualified analytical chemist who has experience working in a client facing role within a GMP pharmaceutical environment. It’s important to have good competences focused on client management and understand what the scientists are doing with the ability make decision and work autonomy.
 
The Principal Analytical Scientist can be based fully remotely in an array of locations, as this company can also offer sponsorship.

Salary can range depending on experience with a generous bonus and competitive benefits package.
 
Responsibilities of the Principal Analytical Scientist:
 
  • Performs qualitative and quantitative analyses of compounds, including drug substances, drug product intermediates and drug product.
  • Be the interface between external partners and the analytical team to deliver client projects
  • Be the analytical contact for all the projects run in the TTC. Participate in team meetings and actively suggest analytical improvements to the work that is required or delivered to a particular client
  • Develop new analytical methods that are signifigantly sound for the different projects run in the TTC.
  • Work as an advisor for analytical challenges that take place in the global CRD organization.
  • Be a mentor to less experience members of the analytical community at the TTC and CRD and help develop their capabilities, particularly of any direct reports under his/her supervision.
  • Work closely with the R&D, QC and QA groups in order to assure that the analytical work done is the most appropriate for the chemistry at each stage of development.
Experience required:
  • PhD in Organic Chemistry or in similar Chemistry/Biochemistry/Health Sciences fields.
  • Worked for a minimum of 8 years in the Pharmaceutical Industry, specifically in the Analytical Development area.
